The City - Alcamo, Sicily

Alcamo is situated on the northwest coast of Sicily, between Palermo and Trapani, on the Gulf of Castellammare. The coast is clean with a clear sea and sandy beaches. The coastline is rugged with high mountains. Alcamo itself is located on the foot of a mountain and is only 6km from the sea. The Gulf has many tourists in high season. Nearby there is also the nature reserve of "Lo Zingaro" with its beautiful bays and underwater caves. Scopello is another small town nearby.

Alcamo has around 50,000 inhabitants. The town is picturesque and the area is safe and quiet. Alcamo is in the "Strada di Vino" (Wine road) and is famous for its wines. There are many bars for you to relax in after a hard day's training as well as lots of restaurants and pizzerias for you to sample the gastronomic delights of real Mediterranean cooking! All in all Alcamo gives you a feel of the "real" Italy.

Employment Opportunities

Language schools hire teachers on an as-needed basis. This means that many schools hire year round. There are certain periods of time that many schools have vacancies to fill such as just after Christmas and New Years when some teachers do not return from holiday. Countries that are below the equator do a lot of hiring in February and March, which is when their autumn begins. In the Northern Hemisphere, September and March are the main times. Intesol Italy has connections with many schools in Italy and we will also offer employment to the best trainees in each group.

Italy Accommodation

The accommodation is fully furnished and near to the school. A room in a shared flat is 200 to 300 euro per person. A studio apartment ( for 1 person) is 250 to 350 euro.
