New INTESOL Website
You may have noticed we have recently implemented a huge change to the INTESOL website, making it easier for you to explore your options and decide which TEFL course is right for your needs. Why not make a change to yourself too, and gain another qualification with INTESOL to improve your career prospects, or to unlock the chance to completely change your career and begin teaching abroad?
At INTESOL, we can help you get on the path that leads to teaching abroad. With such a huge range of course options, we can guarantee that we will have a course that suits your lifestyle without having to make many changes.
Learning Options
Gaining a TEFL qualification is possible no matter how busy you are, your budget or how dedicated you are to learning. Attend face to face session for that extra push, or for busy learners, try an online course that allows you to do as much as you can whenever you can, with no deadlines or set completion dates.
For the more adventurous learners with a passion for travel, why not enrol on a course that allows you to study and gain your TEFL qualification in another country? With courses available in Vietnam, Bolivia, Thailand and Cyprus, there is no reason not to grab some sunshine whilst gaining a critical qualification for teaching abroad. It also provides learners with first-hand experience of teaching abroad during practical elements of the course.
Types of Courses
The most popular and common of all the qualifications for teaching abroad is a TEFL certification. Successful learners can go on to teach all over the world, however, some schools and schemes prefer teachers to have a little more.
Some schools require teachers to have assessed Teaching Practice, which is an extension on a TEFL qualification, however, the more hours that are behind you and your qualification, the rarer this is.
Other requirements depend completely on the age range you will be teaching. Teaching placements involving younger learners may require a TEYL (Teaching English to Young Learners) qualification, however, private schools with adult learners may require a qualification for teaching business English.
Teaching English
Once you have successfully gained a TEFL certificate, you are free to travel the world and teach English in a whole wealth of countries. Many countries want to learn English for a lot of different reasons, but with your qualification, you will be able to plan lessons based on this and tailor each lesson to the needs of your students.
Having a TEFL qualification allows you to travel without worrying about supporting yourself abroad. Earning money whilst abroad will mean you can go on longer trips and see more of the world, starting with only a small budget to pay for your flights and initial accommodation while you find a job (which won’t take long at all).
120 Hours
Spend the standard 120 hours gaining your certification either online or face to face to teach all over the world, in almost any country you could think of. If you have any questions or queries, do not hesitate to contact a member of our team, who will be more than happy to talk you through your options.
